Beauty in this world of manufactured messages about flawlessness and youth. But in reality Bravery is true beauty. We hide in our dark bedrooms or medicate our anxiety. We know that we are messed and suspect we will all ways be lost.
1 Peter 3:3-4
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel
The more I thought about this, the more I sensed that bravery is at the root of true beauty. Rather than the kind that is attracted regardless of one’s physical appearance. So how do we not hide from our fear and shame?
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God has a great price.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whither soever thou goest.
