Gods Wisdom Vs Human Wisdom

1 Corinthians 1:25

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”

Lent is a season starting the celebration of love, a reminder of God’s love in Jesus and ends on a day when God fooled the world by raising Jesus from the dead.  The cross is described as “God’s foolishness” in First Corinthians. The weakness of the cross displays the power of God to forgive, heal, bless and raise the world to new life.

Isaiah 40:28

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary and his understanding no one can fathom.”

His wisdom is so beyond our ability to comprehend that we don’t even have a point of comparison in anyone or anything. God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Most of the time it is healthy to avoid foolishness, there is a time and place to act in what may be considered foolish ways. Man’s wisdom is not enough. It is limited, partial wisdom in all our ignorance bring us closer to death but no closer to God.

To the unbeliever the cross is moronic that God would become a man then be crucified on a cross to be raised to life in order to provide for man’s forgiveness of sins & entrance into heaven is such a simple idea that it appears foolish & far too humbling for natural man to accept. As a result determine the destiny of every person who has every lived seems stupid to the natural person.

This verse teaches us that human wisdom is not only unreliable, Human wisdom never solves anything. People don’t get changed lives from it, it doesn’t transform people it doesn’t forgive sin. Man can’t solve his problems because he won’t recognize the source of his problems.

Their fundamental problem was that they misunderstood what true wisdom really is, the nature of true wisdom. Human wisdom is priding themselves in the wisdom that they are using to divide the church of Jesus Christ.

True wisdom is based on the gospel of Jesus Christ revealed from heaven and that gospel is the only thing that leads us to a better spiritual life.
