Scripture tells us we will have trouble in this world. There’s no getting around that. The enemy hates everyone made in the image of God and seeks to destroy them. So trials are normal and all we need to do is Overcome obstacles and trials.
When trials come, there’s no reason to have a pity party about them, saying, “Poor me; I’m under attack.” Jesus has already overcome the world, so in Him we are over-comers. He gives us everything we need pertaining to “life and godliness” (2 Pet. 1:3). It’s already ours. We have to wake up and actually use it, but we don’t have to strive to attain it.
We already have everything we need to walk in the victory won for us in Christ. If the Holy Spirit is preparing a platform for His people, and if it is in His nature to overcome obstacles and trials, then doesn’t it make sense that those who partner with Him will find that they overcome in Him? While many believers are asking the Holy Spirit to do something for them, He is asking us to “live and move and have our being” in Him (Acts 17:28). He is the One who overcomes. In Him so do we.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
2 Peter 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
