God wants His people to experience deep & unshakable confidence that they are secure in love of God. These promises of inseparability are God’s declaration that he will save His people and nothing can destroy them.
Think of the love of God the Father, in choosing us. Think of the love of Jesus, Son of God who might redeem us from our shame and sin.
38 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
When Christ died he secured his own people in death and in life. Nothing in life and nothing in death will undo the triumph he achieved in the cross and the resurrection.
When Christ rose from the dead, says that Christ is seated at the right hand of God in the heavens. The love of God is so strong, even physical death cannot separate us from His divine love. Death may separate us from the earth and from people we love, but it is impossible for death to separate us from God. God’s love doesn’t stop with the cessation of life.
Sometimes we must put argument aside and simply from our hearts share the reality of who Jesus is and the difference he has made for us. Sometimes we argue, sometimes we testify and sometimes we do both.
Nothing in our present experience, nor anything to come, can separate us from God’s love in Christ. That encourages me tremendously. Nothing in all of time, present or future, can separate me from God’s love.
We can’t cease being children of God once we are born again. When we trust in Christ for salvation, by His grace at that very moment we become members of God’s forever family.
