we’re told during the story of the first Christmas that, because all of the inns were full. Joseph and Mary stayed in a stable. The Joy of Christmas; Mary gave birth to Jesus and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.
Birth of Christ
The coming of the eternal God and promised Messiah had been anticipated for thousands of years. Prophecies foretold the truth that the Savior of the world would be coming. His birth would be so important that it would split history into B.C. and A.D. Your birthday is dated in relationship to the birthday of Jesus.
We often give Christmas present today but the most important part of Christmas is remembering Jesus Christ who was born long ago to save us all.
Christmas is a glorious season of the year. It is also a busy time for most of us. It is my hope and prayer that we may not become so caught up in the pressures of the season that we place our emphasis on the wrong things and miss the simple joys of commemorating the birth of the Holy One of Bethlehem.
The real joy of Christmas is when our celebration of Christmas will be a reflection of the love and selflessness taught by the Savior. Giving, not getting brings to full bloom the Christmas spirit.
May we give as the Savior gave to give of oneself is a holy gift. We give as a remembrance of all the Savior has given. May we also give gifts that have eternal value, along with our gifts that eventually break or are forgotten?
Also as the Christmas season wraps us with all its glory, may we, as did the Wise Men, seek a bright, particular star to guide us in our celebration of the Savior’s birth.
We all resist giving him the importance in our lives that he deserves. We fill up our schedule with events that pale in significance compared to Jesus. Also we spend our money on the newest gadget and have nothing to give to God’s work around the world. We spend all our time advancing our careers and yet say we have no time to help others in our church and community.
As you prepared to celebrate Christmas this year, ask yourself this question:
Have you left room in your inn for Jesus?
Bible Verses :
“And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.”
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
